Cal Grads Capture Gold at 2012 Summer Olympics

While much attention has been focused on Michael Phelps and Brian Lochte at the London Olympics, we’re excited to note the success of former Cal Bear swimmers Dana Vollmer and Nathan Adrian, both of whom have captured Gold!

NBC Bay Area reports the following: UC Berkeley graduate Dana Vollmer on Sunday won an Olympic gold medal in the 100-meter butterfly in London. In doing so, the former Cal star also set a world record. Way to go Dana! Read the full article.

The Cal Bears official athletics website reports a story of how Nathan Adrian won Olympic Gold in the 100-meter freestyle on Wednesday over Australia’s James Magnussen by one-hundredth of a second, 47.52 to 47.53.
